Our Story
We are the Twin Lakes Skatepark Project, dedicated to skateboarding and community. Despite our busy lives as workers, business owners, husbands, fathers, friends, and skaters, our passion for skateboarding remains unwavering. Our journey began in Grayson County, skating the streets and often getting chased away by the police. A highlight was the opening of the skatepark on Highway 54 in Leitchfield, which became our second home. However, as it fell into disrepair and was decommissioned, we were left with limited options. Determined to create a better space, we created the Twin Lakes Skatepark Project. Our vision is a new, fully concrete skatepark that provides a safe environment for skating and a hub for family bonding. We've faced challenges, from liability issues to advocating for skateparks in city planning. Yet, we believe skateparks are vital community assets that promote physical activity, creativity, and inclusivity. Join us in our mission to build a skatepark that embodies the spirit and resilience of our community. Together, we can create a welcoming space for skaters of all ages to pursue their passion.
